Positive Strokes for Women was founded by Ann Slocomb, a tennis player since the age of 9, a teaching professional for the past 18 years and a lifetime of passion for living a life of extraordinary health and fitness.

As a teaching professional for so many years, Ann constantly heard women making mention about their overall health concerns or their curiosity about ways to improve their health, managing their injuries or even discovering ways to prevent injuries, and of course mental toughness mountains and valleys. All of these areas Ann loved to help her students with and knew all were important to her students continuing to play the sport they can’t get enough of!

Knowing that women lead a multi-dimensional lifestyle Ann wanted to create a business which addressed and answered their questions and provided to them a way for playing tennis with full-throttle ambition and health…and great fashion.

Presently Positive Strokes for Women offers Denver’s most unique selection of tennis clothing, with a complementary assortment of fitness clothing. We are proud to offer Wilson, LBH, Fila and Jerdog as our tennis clothing vendors. We are committed to supporting local businesses and in our fitness wear line we offer: Be Present yoga wear, Stonewear Designs, and Viva Diva – all in Denver! We also offer be.ology as unique, fun, inspirational t-shirt line of ways of being.

It is also so important to make educated decisions on your racquet, stringing and tension. We have one of the best stringers in Denver who has 40 years experience with racquet stringing, racquet customization and can help you personalize your racquet to your specifications. Trouble with tennis elbow? Want more pop on the ball? Would you like to get more power out of your shot? Come in and let’s talk racquet talk. Positive Strokes for Women is also a business that is eco-friendly. We use recycled boxes and tissue paper for our wrapping and chose not to wrap our gifts, as we could not find adequate recycled wrapping paper. We also use vendors that have eco-friendly practices.
